Look forward to hearing your stories of love, life and the inevitable compromises one needs to make between the life imagined as a singleton parent and the reality of parenting twins. Plus do you have a link for the twin carries with the didymos carrier? Am wondering if my boys are too big now - I usually just use two ergos. I too shared your visions of parenting one child. But we've made it work and made most of those visions a reality. I breastfeed them all but one feeding every 24 hours, we have two baby carriers, a wrap and a beco. Yes we have the dual stroller (a bumbleride to be exact) but I mostly have one baby in it while the other is in the wrap. We are cloth diapering and loving it. No I didn't get the midwife like I had hoped (none in Ottawa would take me as mine were moni di twins) but we did have a doula and a vaginal birth. Although we already had 4 singleton boys, we never in a million years imagined we would have twins! We also elected not to have any early ultrasounds, and our first doctor visit was not even until 14 weeks. I ignored my extreme morning sickness, exhaustion and twin dreams and chalked it up to advanced maternal age! Imagine our surprise at that 21 week check up! I too had a fairly natural birth at 38 weeks. I was so thankful to have carefully selected a low intervention low c-section rate doctor early on (I am prone to 10 pound 41 week babies) and we worked well together to carry the girls to 38 weeks. I then continued to breastfeed them until they self weaned at 17 months, cloth diaper and they still co-bed at 21 months! I look forward to reading more of your story!
