My IDEAL pocket would have STRONG and long lasting velcro as a fastener (the same color as the diaper) and microsuede inner and come with only bamboo inserts. This diaper would be bold in color (think hot pink, fire engine red, rich pumpkin organge and vibrant turquoise...this diaper would also have some retro prints- Think 'retro rocket ships', 'retro kitchen look', etc). It would fit bigger babies (like mine, who has already outgrown some major brand pockets), not just be trim, but be functional as well and never pinch the legs. It would be ideal for chubby babies!!!

As far as prints go... I think neutral is an easy sell (diapers are investments, often times for more than one child). I like the idea of vintage/retro that a lot of the other comments included. Pocket diapers are my preference, they're so versatile! I find OS fit my skinny baby best so I'd make them sized (newborn, and then 2 additional sizes). Hook and loop closures, with fold back washing tabs (a must). I find overnight absorbency the only struggle with cloth diapering and so I'd include an extra-absorbant bamboo/hemp blend insert and a trimmer/thiner one for daytime use (or to be combined with the first, to make an ultra liner). mamie.sdoggett -at- gmail -dot- com

2- A pocket diaper that snapped into place so it wouldn't move while being worn. Bright prints. My husband has always asked if they sell all black diapers and other than Omaiki, I've never seen one... so definitely a solid black one!

1 - The best pocket diaper would definitely be OS and be sold with at least two inserts of the same size. The inserts would be organic bamboo and microfiber. A dry weave material pocket to contain the insert and keep baby feeling dry and comfortable. Fun, bright prints! Aplix closures all the wall with adjustable leg gussets. Why have a dream pocket diaper when the Easy Fit is so great? Although, I do think I'd like a minky layer to touch my baby and have the hemp/bamboo/organic cotton layer be underneath that on a snake style soaker. My dream pocket diaper would have a snap closure, a flap to keep the insert inside, the insert would be bamboo, the inside of the diaper would be minky and the sides would have adjustable elastic. I would love a soft minky material for the outside with a nice girly pattern in polka dots.

I would love a one size pocket diaper that fit absolutely perfectly from day one until potty trained. It would ALWAYS fit around my little one's chunky thighs and this magic elastic would never leave marks. Made of all organic material, this perfect diaper would have a super-wicking liner and ultra-thin super-absorbent inserts. It would snap, of course. It would come in a wide range of solid colors and would come with a matching dress/tunic top or a matching tshirt for boys. I love how cute a diaper looks when it's peeking out from under a matching outfit!

Entry Two:
I would love the included inserts to be: one thinner insert for younger babies and one thicker insert for older. Instead of having to stack two same-sized inserts (they never seem to fit perfectly for me), one thicker one would do it. Retro prints (paper dolls, golden books, vintage fisher price toys) would be unique and clever - could easily be unisex as well. I'd also include a little tag on the diaper with visual instructions for how to assemble the diapers for people folding them that may not know or for others that need a little reminding.

My husband told me about this contest, how rare is that? Just shows his love of CDing as much as me!
Anyways, I think the Tot Bot pocket diapers are a great starting off point for customizing my own diaper. I love OS, so definitely wouldn't change anything there. I'm torn between Velcro or aplix closure, so if I were to sell my design I would offer it in both - everyone seems to have their own preference for valid reasons. I'd recruit an engineer to design a way in which to reduce the butt bulk in smaller babies (such as mine who always looks like he has a lot of cute junk in his trunk). Organic bamboo and microfiber material. I read another comment that suggested the diaper come pre-treated/washed, I think that's awesome. I'd love a print that looked like little boys underwear - complete with a superhero on the back (picture it, beyond cute).

Continuing with the best diaper... Bamboo on one side and microfiber on the other (basically I'd just keep the Tot Bot's inserts the way they are), I prefer Velcro tabs to aplix. Some sort of aplix or Velcro for a reusable liner to adhere to would be a huge help so they don't shift in the diaper. The ideal diaper from a Dad's point of view. i would like to have a pocket diaper with suede cloth lining, gussets, and snap closure. The lining should snap in or out (incase i want to use it like a cover with out the extra bulk). The pocket should open in the front AND back and be a one size diaper with at least 3 snap downs to adjust rise. i also prefer an insert that is not microfiber: cotton or hemp. for prints I like really boy-ish prints: power tools or tractors or something!

My wife washes the diapers, I fold. I find pockets to be the trickiest (though, I now consider myself an expert). I've yet to find an insert that is thicker on one end than the other, but I think there would be a huge benefit if there were. Obviously the thicker end would go in the front for boys and in the back typically for girls. This would avoid always needing to double-stuff. I think something similar to athletic material that would wick away wetness as an alternative to fleece would be great. One size is always better on the wallet, and if designed correctly, just as well fitting as sized. I'd design my own custom diaper with retro looking prints. Thank you for this contest! A one-sized pocket with an ubber soft stay dry attached liner with an ultra trim hemp/microfiber insert that can wash out when in the washer. I want real grippy aplix that holds up over time/wear and laundry tabs that actual holds the tabs while in the washer. I love prints, so how about rainbows & unicorns for my little girl. :)

Hmmm, I don't use pocket diapers much, so hard to say. I prefer aplix, something with some give in the tabs, like flip covers. I like microfiber for the trimness, but its harder to keep smells out of. So maybe a cotton insert, but microfiber lining for touching baby's skin. I like bright, solid color covers. My ideal pocket diaper would be a sized diaper for the best fit. I prefer velcro so there is no need to pinch any snaps shut. Organic cotton would be my choice next to my little one's skin because it is soft, breathable, and a renewable resource. I'd prefer removable liners for easy cleaning.

As for the design, I'd love a vintage rose pattern for a little girl. It would be so precious I'd never want to put pants on her!

Definitely one size, aplix, with stuffing that wasn't microfiber, but was something natural instead - bamboo? hemp? i'm not so worldly to know the difference :)

As for design, although I love purple, as I'm only diapering a boy right now, that probably wouldn't work. I'd love a monster print though - ikea had sheets with cute monsters on them and I'm sure there are other prints out there as well with cute monsters :)

I'd basically like a Tots Bots Easy Fit, but with a stay-dry liner (perhaps removable?). I like both snaps and aplix for different reasons/situations, so maybe they'd come in both. For snap versions, two snaps vertically (like BGs), not horizontally (like FBs). One-size or two-sized would be great. And lots of cool prints! Ideally, colorful, cute, gender neutral prints - animals, birds, stripes, polka dots.

My perfect pocket diaper would be a 2 size system with adjustability within each size to make them as trim and perfect fitting as possible.

I used to be an all snaps girl until I got my first Easy Fit and a Bummis Whisper Wrap… now I see why people love hook and loop. My condition with closure is simply that you can get a good leg and tummy fit, with snaps that means being able to adjust legs and waist separately to accommodate chunky thighs and a skinny waist or vice versa.

Bamboo is my favourite fabric with hemp coming in second. During the day I like natural fibre against my daughters skin and love the fleece liners for night time. My daughter is a fast wetter so a combination bamboo or hemp plus a small amount of microfibre and fleece would work as well (similar to the easy fit).

The pocket opening needs to be HUGE, I have small hands but it is so much easier to stuff big pocket openings. I would also want enough space in the pocket to allow for extra stuffing for night time. And maybe some sort of genius elastic/stretchy leg panel that would allow a good leg fit even with night time absorbency.

As for colour… rich deep and beautiful hues are my favourite (i.e. pomegrante and lime easy fit) I am also a sucker for unique custom prints (i.e. flower print whisper wrap). Either way the colours have to be gorgeous and beautiful. I don't love pastels or typical 'baby colours'. An awesome stripe print would be great or maybe a black and white chevron or stars.

My perfect diaper would be one size and it would be snap closure. I would like the color coded snap option. I would like the liner to be bamboo but also have a stay-dry liner built in. I would like the liner attached (like the Easy Fit style). I would like it to have double or triple gussets to hold in massive poops!

My perfect diaper print would be one that featured maroon and navy colors. It would need to be stripped, checkered, or maybe even plaid. I think that is the perfect blend of girl/boy that would be gender neutral but still cute. In my opinion anyways!

One-size, snap closure, bamboo insert that is attached like yours is, so it isn't hard to find and stuff in the diaper laundry but doesn't take forever to dry. I'd like an extra zorb/microfiber type insert option that could also be be stuffed into the pocket for overnight. When I had boys in cloth, I always wanted someone to do a diaper inspired by Van Gogh's Starry Night. I'd love to see you do ruffles on the bum for girls. Maybe some easter-y prints? bunnies & jelly beans... a print with vintage paper dolls on it, some houndstooth? I LOVE prints!
